Your massage therapy experience at Leveraged Recovery is top priority to us, there is no such thing as a stupid question. We don't expect you to know all the technical words to describe the massage session you are looking for or how to match with the right massage therapist for you.
Hopefully, the questions below help get you started.
Reach out to us at 860-835-4839, by call or text, if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The Leveraged Recovery office is located inside Just Performance Fitness and next door to ShakePro at 521 Davis Road, Danielson, CT 06239. You can park in the front or back parking areas. The rear parking area has a covered entrance door. The Leveraged Recovery office is upstairs. For your first appointment, we will meet you in the Just Performance Fitness lobby.
The Leveraged Recovery answer: The short answer... Tipping isn't encouraged.
Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. We never want the additional cost of tipping to come between you and booking your appointment. Tipping WILL NEVER affect the care we put into your session. You won’t even be asked for a tip on the checkout screen.
If you choose to tip, please know it is incredibly appreciated. Our session fees are set as low as feasibly possible to bring you the level of quality that is a point of pride for Leveraged Recovery. Massage therapy isn’t cheap, and we know that. Your tips often pay for our kid’s sports, continuing education, and donations to local organizations.
Please know there are other ways to support Leveraged Recovery and our goals for the future. The Leveraged Recovery Wish List on Amazon! Items on this list serve the office as a whole or the Youth Sports teams that we are committed to supporting. Sharing your personal experience with friends and family can be the best way for us to find clients who can benefit from our work. Commenting on, liking, and sharing our posts on social media helps us reach into the community, and helps let people know little office is here. Leaving detailed reviews (Facebook and Google) can also help potential clients know if Leveraged Recovery is the right fit for them.
The Massage Therapy industry's answer is often much different. Please reach out directly to the massage therapy office you plan on using to ask.
Currently, we offer massage therapy. During your session, you may also receive cupping therapy, kinesotape, infrared therapy, compression therapy, or vibration therapy. Stay tuned for more, the future is filled with access to many different recovery tools and services!
This is a tough question. Clients regularly come in after reading an article, hearing a buzzword, or talking to someone who says “X” type of massage will fix all your problems. At the end of the day, styles and approaches work differently for unique clients and can be very different from individual therapists. The best suggestion is to come in knowing what your biggest priority is and how you want to feel when you leave the room. If you want to feel relaxed, you may have to decide if that is a higher priority than a specific area of your body that has been bugging you.
Each session is customized based on specific goals and how your tissues respond in that moment. Most clients receive a blend of modalities including; sports massage therapy, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy/sustained compression, stretching, relaxation, friction, cupping therapy, kinesotape, infrared therapy, compression therapy, intraoral manual therapy, vibration therapy, and any addition modalities that your therapist has been trained in.
Finding the best massage therapist for your personal needs can be an expensive road and we want to make that a bit easier. Your first session at Leveraged Recovery includes a free New Client Intake. The New Client Intake is a 30-minute session for you and your therapist to get to know each other, understand your massage therapy goals, complete paperwork, answer questions, and perform any assessments we may need. Any leftover time of the 30 minutes is free hands-on time. Most clients will print their Client Intake Forms from the website or pick them up at the office ahead of their appointment to increase the amount of free hands-on time they receive. You may book an additional time frame at the end of your New Client Intake to extend your session. For example, we frequently see a New Client Intake booked with a 30-minute session; the total session is 60 minutes, but you only pay for 30.
Your first session is all about figuring out if we are a good fit. It should be a good session, but anticipate that as we get to know your body and needs over appointments that your sessions will become more and more enjoyable and effective.
We hate when that happens and want to make sure it doesn’t happen here. One of the ways we prevent that is by asking a TON of questions, some of them might seem silly, but sometimes how you answer them can completely change your session. It is hard to know exactly what you are looking for because we aren’t inside your body, and it is hard for you to know what we need to know. Know that your massage therapist can adapt the session in so many ways if we know what you like and dislike.
A few tips to have the best session possible:
-Over-communicate: If we don’t know, we can’t adjust our session. Need a different pressure? Need a different temperature? Hate the music? TELL US, as soon as it pops into your head.
-Tell us about your bad experience so we don’t take the same approach or tap into something that you don’t like.
-Come to your appointment with long-term and session goals.
The fastest way to see if there is any open appointment is by checking the online calendar under the “Book Now” tab. Friday morning unbooked appointments for the coming week are released to the online calendar. You may see additional appointments open up throughout the week if clients cancel or change their session times and lengths.
To schedule an appointment past the coming week, if you don’t see what you need online, or if you just don't like booking through online systems, please call or text the office at 860-835-4839 or connect with Leveraged Recovery on Facebook and Instagram.
Leveraged Recovery views scheduling a little differently than the general Massage Therapy industry, so our process may be unique compared to what you have experienced before. Massage therapy is a tool you can use to help overcome challenges and help set you up for success, not something that every client should think they need to get through the day-to-day. We want to have availability now for the clients who call and say I’m hurting/tweaked something, and not tell them that we can accommodate them in a month. We want to ensure that your bodywork stays in line with your goals, and we can’t necessarily do that if we have decided what day your massage is 8 months from now. For some clients, we are looking to manage chronic pain, and have nailed down the system to keep on top of it, including regular bodywork sessions. In those situations, we will book out over the next month and add sessions in as you complete them.
In the service descriptions, there are some examples that you can align with your goals to give you an initial idea of length of the session. If you are between two session lengths, book the longer of the two and we can figure it out when you come in.
On occasion, we may offer to shorten your session because we have achieved the desired tissue change, and sometimes doing too much can leave you in a worse spot than when you came in. If your session is shortened, you will only be charged for the used time. If your session goals include relaxation, mental clarity, unwinding, decompressing, etc. then the longer session may be more appropriate, as the neurologic response can be amplified with slow repeating bodywork techniques. Whatever session you schedule we work to make the most of the time to reach your goals.
